About Cellulite Removal

What is Cellulite Removal?

Cellulite removal for a smoother skin

Cellulite is a problem that most women suffer from, after a certain age. Once, women enter their 20s, the problem starts growing with age. Although the problem is much pronounced in older woman, young women are not saved from it. Cellulite can be defined as fats getting collected under your skin from septae.

To define septae, it is the network of connected tissue strands that hold fat in their original place. However, many times they are not strong enough, tight, fat can bulge from septae. This condition in which there are fat lumps in the skin, which gives it an ‘orange lump’ feel are called cellulite.

Women suffer from cellulite more than men as their septae is lesser than men resulting in a less tight network. Another factor that puts women more at the risk of the problem is because of the thickness of their skin. Women have thinner skin than men, making them more prone to getting cellulite more than men.

Cellulite is also considered to be genetic in nature with some people being more prone to them than others. One of the major contributors for the growth of cellulite is weight gain. With excessive fat, people are more likely to get cellulite. However, there are many thin people also suffer from the ‘orange peel’ look. Some of the areas which are prone to cellulite formation in the body are thighs and buttocks.

What is laser cellulite treatment?

Laser Cellulite Treatment is one of the advanced technologies for treating cellulite. The treatment comes in three types- or classification:

Cellulite Classification

Cellulites are commonly classified into grades I, II and III. Each grade has various unique characteristics.

  • Grade I: It is not easy to identify the cellulite as it will not be visible. However, one can feel an area of the skin become thicker permeable. As it’s not noticeable at this stage using the naked eye , but a microscopic examination of the affected area will be able to detect the cellulite.

  • Grade II: The affected area of the skin tends to have a lower temperature than the other areas. During this stage, the skin texture changes and the skin become pale at times.

  • Grade III: The Cellulite is most visible in most cases when the skin is at a rest position such as standing or lying down flat. The symptoms will be as those of grade I and II. The skin will also lose color and will be very rough.

  • Grade IV: Grade IV is the extreme of this condition and here microscopic examination will reveal dense connective tissues. In addition to the characteristics of grade III, the skin can also tend to be painful to touch or during massage.

Acoustic wave therapy , RF based technologies like Venus freeze, Endy Med 3 Deep , Laser lipolysis, Velasmooth /Velashape or LPG M6 cellulite reduction treatments are amongst the most popular procedures for treatment of Cellulite.

Based on our research , the Acoustic wave therapy ( FDA approved ) and Laser lipolysis may give maximum results with minimum intrusion in the skin layer. The procedure involves burning of fat tissues present under the skin. Low-intensity laser rays are used to burn the cellulite fat. Once the fat is heated and dissolved, it becomes easier to flush them out.

Who is the best candidate?

Anyone who is suffering from cellulite can get the treatment to remove the ‘orange peel’ from their buttocks and thighs. However, if someone is suffering from skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, they would not be able to get laser cellulite treatment.

Side effects:

The treatment option is non-invasive and non-surgical in nature. Due to the same reason, there are no major side-effects of the procedure. Some of the mild side-effects that might surface are swelling, bruising and local numbness.

What is the Cost?

The price of the treatment depends on the area size that needs to be treated. For a large size area such as buttocks and thighs each session of the Laser Cellulite Treatment can cost from AUD $250 and up based on the type of the procedure chosen and size of the area being treated.
