Pimple Treatments for Tweens

pimple treatment for tweensMost tweens and teens will have problems with acne. In some cases, it weakens their self-esteem and makes them struggle with their self-image. Research shows that approximately 85% of children have acne and many of these children have it so bad that they should see a dermatologist. Most adolescents have one or a few of the different types of pimples, red inflamed lumps, blackheads and whiteheads.

Causes of Acne

There are many myths about the causes of acne, most are ridiculous and unjustified. Soft drink, chocolate, pizza and other oily, greasy foods do not cause acne, though if you don’t wash your face properly after eating greasy food the oil can clog up the pores around your mouth and give you pimples.  The real reason you get acne is puberty, your hormones stimulate the glands in your pores and they create more oils. This is how your pores get clogged up and the way to stop that is to cleanse and scrub your face.

Treating Acne

The first step to treating acne is skincare. You should cleanse and moisturize your face daily. If you don’t have serious acne this should help to clear it up. If this doesn’t help, then over-the-counter products some of these key ingredients are effective.

Vitamin A is a favorable ingredient in the treating of acne. Try to add an over the counter product containing vitamin A to your daily skin care routine.

Benzoyl Peroxide is often an ingredient in over-the-counter skin care products. It can clear up oily skin, kill bad bacteria, and get rid of dead skin cells.

If your child’ skin doesn’t show any signs of improvements in 4-6 weeks, consult your pediatrician and they may recommend a prescription medication.

Always consult a doctor if you have any questions on pimple treatment and acne treatment for tweens.

When making your decision if you have any queries or you aren’t sure about something, ask your pediatrician or a dermatologist. They are professionals and will be able to answer all of your questions.
